This course introduces programmers to the fundamentals of the Perl language, with emphasis on practical CGI scripting, core syntax and common data structures. It covers installation, environment setup, platforms and documentation.

You will practice core programming topics: operators, functions, data structures and control flow. The course also covers input/output, text processing and regular expressions so you can build robust scripts and manipulate text reliably.
