Voice in Converged Networks over IP (VOIP)

Networking, IP Telephony

This course gives a practical introduction to voice networks running over TCP/IP, focusing on signaling, codecs, media handling and gateway functions. Hands-on labs let you deploy, test and troubleshoot live scenarios using VoIP principles, TCP/IP and Cisco hardware/software.

This hands-on training explores signaling protocols, call routing, numbering plans and gateway roles, plus quality of service and survivability features. You'll work with H.323 and SIP, dial-peer and numbering rules, QoS and gateway fax/IVR.

THIS TRAINING COURSE WILL HELP YOU:

  • Understand VoIP protocols and codecs
  • Configure gateways and call routing (dial-peer)
  • Design numbering plans and translation rules
  • Implement QoS and survivability on network devices

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

  • Network engineers and VoIP administrators
  • System integrators working with Cisco solutions
  • IT staff responsible for LAN/WAN voice services
  • Engineers planning gateway and numbering designs
