VMware vSphere – Networking (VMW4)

Virtualization, VMware

This course introduces VMware vSphere and ESXi with a practical focus on designing and configuring virtual networks for production use. You will learn to install and manage vSphere networking, distributed vSwitch, the Cisco Nexus 1000V and related tools. Topics include migration, port groups and virtual adapter types to support varied workloads.

The training also covers network security and operations, including VMware vShield Zones, the VMsafe API, network policies, QoS and performance tuning. Hands-on techniques for troubleshooting and integrating VMware with Cisco network components are included. Exercises cover ESXi CLI, teaming, IPv6, VLANs and storage protocols.

THIS TRAINING COURSE WILL HELP YOU:

  • Configure virtual switches and port group network policies
  • Deploy and manage the Cisco Nexus 1000V
  • Implement vShield Zones and VMsafe-based network security
  • Troubleshoot and optimize vSphere network performance

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

  • Network administrators working with VMware
  • VMware virtualization administrators
  • Cisco network engineers integrating with vSphere
  • IT staff responsible for virtual network operations
