This three-day, hands-on course teaches how to deliver virtual desktops and applications from a single VDI platform. It develops practical skills in VMware Horizon 8 administration and shows how to configure and deploy desktop environments using lab exercises.

You will learn to build and optimize Windows VMs, install the Horizon Agent, and configure client access and entitlements for desktop pools. The course also covers instant-clone provisioning, RDS desktops and apps, and monitoring with Horizon Console tools.

  • Install and configure the Horizon Agent on desktop VMs
  • Configure and manage VMware Horizon Client and connect clients
  • Configure, manage, and entitle desktop pools of full VMs
  • Configure, manage, and entitle instant-clone desktop pools
  • Create and use Remote Desktop Services (RDS) desktops and application pools
  • Monitor the Horizon environment using the Console dashboard and Help Desk tool
Assumed knowledge:
Basic VMware vSphere Client and VM console experience, plus familiarity with Windows desktop and Server navigation.
